On the theme of the

'The Good Shepherd'

the Flower Festival held over the May Day Bank Holiday was attended by hundreds of people and raised well over £2,000 for the Washburn Heritage Centre, local charity Horticap, the Parochial Hall and church funds.

The visitors' book at Fewston Church was full of comments such as 'amazing', 'beautiful', 'absolutely wonderful' and 'made me want to cry'.

Visitors appreciated how the arrangements were linked to the theme of 'the Good Shepherd' with bible verses and literature quotes, and props such as looms, fleeces, shepherds crooks, toy sheep and even Black Sheep beer!

The PCC is grateful to Community Champions Fund for financial assistance in mounting this event, and to Nidderdale Plus and Community Foundation. All the flowers were supplied by Daphne Wilson 'Hearts & Flowers', 131 Otley Road, Harrogate
